Senior HR Generalist

We are currently searching for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to round out our small but passionate HR team. The successful candidate will collaborate with NLG’s administrative, human resource, and leadership teams to support our HR practices and objectives. Together, we aim to provide an employee-focused, supportive culture that values quality, commitment, productivity, and continuous learning.



  • Supporting the HR Department and Studio Directors with the development, documentation, and administration of HRpolicies, procedures, programs, and activities at NLG
  • First point of contact for HR related queries, including responding to day-to-day questions from employees regarding benefits, payroll, time off, and other policies & procedures
  • Managing recruitment activities, employee onboarding & orientation, and employee offboarding to facilitate the best employee experience possible
  • Primary contact for immigration related matters for new and existing employees
  • Creating/maintaining/organizing employee files, plus other record-keeping responsibilities as required
  • Preparing HR reports as requested by the HR and Studio Directors
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of trends, best-practices, and regulatory changes
  • Ensuring the company’s compliance to employment law/government regulations, and identifying potential compliance risks
  • Keeping abreast of employee training opportunities and new technologies in human resources
  • Assisting and advising company leadership on topics related to HR
  • Promoting the safety and welfare of our employees, including participating in NLG’s Health & Safety Committee and handling WorkSafeBC issues if they arise
  • Filling in for the Senior HR Advisor with payroll and benefits administration as needed
  • Assisting the HR and Studio Directors with various company initiatives
  • Performing other duties and projects as assigned



  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Human Resources, including at least 1 year in the technology sector
  • Degree and/or diploma in Human Resources Management from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • CPHR designation a plus



  • Experience and/or interest in the video game industry

  • Maintain high levels of integrity, tact, and professionalism and exercise confidentiality at all times
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and good knowledge of HRIS
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Canadian and local employment-related laws, human rights legislations, and WorkSafeBC regulations
